Welcome

Dear reader, benvenuti - a very warm welcome to my new site on Positano!! Here are a few words about me and what this Blog is all about.
#1: As of now, this blog is a sito in allestimento, a construction site. Posts are being added on a regular basis, pages are being updated and expanded as the blog develops. I am very glad that you found my blog. Please look at it at regular intervals and also let me have your comments, questions etc. I would love to communicate with you. You can also find me at my new Facebook Page:
#2: About me: I am writing in English to enable linguistic access to as many readers as possible, but am no native speaker though I studied your language at university. I am no resident of Positano as of now but am based in northern Italy. Still, one grandmother was born here on the Amalfi coast. And this is the bond I feel. linking me to Positano.

#3: About the blog: This is a blog dedicated mainly to how homes and gardens look like here in Positano, with a lot of detailed pictures, to make you aware of all those treasures, be they man-made (houses) or natural (plants growing profusely in the gardens). In addition, you will find information on which plants grow here, from ornamental plants to vegetables, orchards, and herbs and kitchen gardens It took me a few years to observe Positanesi how they keep and tend their gardens. Here I would like to thank the owners of Palazzo Murat in particular for giving me insights in how their gardens are being tended, plus the names of a lot of special plants and botanical rarieties that take so well here in Positano. Of course I will feature the gardens of Palazzo Murat in detail in my Blog.
#4: Why do I write this blog: Outdoor living fascinates me. So I would like to convey to you how this takes place here: having meals in the gardens, making these meals from the vegetables and herbs that practicall grow at your doorsteps. The afternoon is spent under the welcome protection of a pergola, and dinner (or tea!) is taken in the garden, using colorful local ceramic tableware and tablecloths. I hope you will like the lifestyle here in Positano as much as I do. I know there are already a few other blogs, websites and publications on Positano and the costiera, but it is this blog I would like to use to present to you what I love most about this place: its luxurious plant treasures, playing framework to the white and pastel-colored cascade of houses that are the landmark of Positano. It is the plants that convey color to this town - just imagine what Positano would look like without its plants ... still beautifully set against the cliffs and rocks, but rather grey and barren ...
