Stairs leading up Positano-style amongst pastel-colored houses and brightly painted wrought-iron door elements, shaded by evergreen plants and deciduous trees through the branches of which the late summer afternoon light is filtering .. |
From Piazza Mulini, quite a few streets, stairs and paths wind themselves into all directions. On the way down to the beach, you come at another cross-roads next to the
Delicatessen store. This spot represents to me the quintessence of a small town, and it is not only people that love this place.

the narrow stairway leads up to Via Colombo - this is the view you get from the top |
From here, you can choose to go down further to the beach, but also, to the left, stone stairs lead up towards Via Colombo, a shortbreak leading from the deli shops, the
hairstylist Luisa e Flavia and a jewellery store, a few steps above.

Taking an afternoon nap on the doorstep of the hairstylist's |
Late afternoons in August and September are still warm here: the stones maintain the warm feeling of the sun even at the time when it has disappeared beyond the mountains. The place is rather windstill and protected, even though it is a real thoroughfare as so many people that want to reach the beach take this path leading straight down to the
Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta. When I write that the place is protected, I also refer to bits and pieces of gardens whose plants protrude upon the street. A central spot, but with an unseen-of perspective. And - it is home base to very fortunate cats ..

A blue cushion was arranged on top of the stone on the side of the Delicatessen shop .. |

The deli store is just below, here you can see a part of its balcony on the first floor where they sell fruit and vegetables. |
From this point of view, the cat is framed in by lush green plants, such as ivy and the thickly interwoven twigs of the kiwi and citrus trees that form a natural roof to the gardens of
La Zagara cafe..

Late summer fruit (plums, pears, apples, dried chlis and peppers) makes for colorful spots in this picture, against the lush citrus fruit trees, beyond which you can see the darker nuances of the evergreen oaks growing on the edge of Valle dei Mulini |
